Richard Grain is the principal of the Grain Law Firm, which provides extensive estate planning, trust administration, probate and family law services to individuals, families and business owners in the Greater Los Angeles area. Richard’s primary focus is protecting his clients from the potentially devastating legal consequences of disability and death. Through proper estate planning, people can avoid probate, protect their assets, continue their legacies through strategic charitable giving, and provide for the security of their loved ones. 

Helping his clients is more than just a business to him. Richard takes the time to get to know you, to learn about your life and values, and he works closely with you through an ongoing relationship that ensures your personal and financial goals are met as your needs and the laws change over the years.  Having spent many years in the world of corporate and public affairs, Richard combines a business background with a wide range of legal experience, and can therefore provide his clients with a uniquely practical perspective. 

A California attorney since 1985, Richard is also a member of the Trusts and Estates Sections of the California State Bar andLos Angeles County Bar Association, and a member the exclusive Beverly Hills Estate Planning Council. He is one of only 10 members in the Greater Los Angeles area of the prestigious American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, an educational organization committed to promoting the highest standards of excellence in the estate planning profession. A noted speaker on living trusts and estate planning, Richard’s seminars are said to be entertaining, informative and easy-to-understand. 

Richard previously practiced law for 15 years in London, England, where he handled multi-jurisdictional litigation and mediation in Paris and The Hague for various global corporations and foreign governments.  He also provided trust administration support for an international clientele.  Richard was enrolled as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and a member of the Law Society of England, as well as a past president of the London Young Solicitors’ Group.

A resident of the Hollywood Hills with his flat-coat retriever, Phoebe, Richard spends what time he can on gardening, the arts and collecting early 20th Century photographs.
